Kidzjet COVID Emergency Plan

Oct 10, 2020

Kidzjet continues to set the standards for safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kidzjet had developed and began implementing its COVID Ready Standards, which incorporate CDC and local guidelines, as early as March. Enclosed herein is additional information about these standards, which have been fully implemented as of the date of this Plan.

Consistent with CDC and CDPH guidelines, Kidzjet’s COVID-Safe Ride standards include:

  • Instructions to Drivers to keep vehicle windows cracked to increase airflow and ventilation whenever possible.
  • Prior to each ride, Drivers must attest that they have disinfected the vehicle consistent with CDC recommendations. Drivers have been provided access to additional resources on how to properly disinfect vehicle surfaces, disposal of cleaning products, and reminders to consistently wash hands particularly after each cleaning.
  • All Kidzjet Employees and Drivers are periodically tested for COVID.
  • All Kidzjet users must be equipped with appropriate PPE on all rides, including cloth face coverings.
  • Riders are not permitted to sit in the front seat to help increase physical distance between the Rider and Driver. Kidzjet also requires the use of a plastic divider between the front driver and passenger seats and the rear passenger seats to prevent airborne particles from transmitting between Riders and Drivers. In addition, Ride Organizers are asked to walk their Riders to and from the vehicle to reduce any potential contact between the Rider and Driver at pick-up and drop-off.
  • Riders and Drivers can cancel a ride without incurring any cancellation fees if they arrive at a ride pick-up location and the other user is not equipped with a mask. This has been communicated to all users through the Kidzjet website.
  • In addition to attesting that they have disinfected their vehicle and are equipped with all necessary PPE, Drivers also attest through the mobile application that they have not recently had contact with someone who has COVID-19, do not currently have COVID-19 to their knowledge, are not exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, and do not have a fever.
  • Kidzjet does not offer airport service. Drivers do not handle backpacks or luggage for Riders, and do not offer food, beverages, or other items to Riders. Kidzjet does not offer a ‘pooled’ feature on its platform.
  • In the event that ordinances require safety measures beyond those described above, Users are required to follow the more stringent standards. All COVID Ready Standards will remain in effect as long as needed, and at least until Phase 4 reopening.
  • Kidzjet has made available and will continue to make available disinfectants, plastic dividers, and cloth masks for Drivers. It has provided tips and instructions for Drivers and Riders on its COVID Ready Standards detailed above, including videos, tutorials, and print media, and has sourced and connected Users with resources designed to provide important health and safety information and help stop the spread of COVID-19.
